Sniff the fresh sea air as you look out over the sea from the balcony. From the apartment, you literally walk across the dune and you are on the beach. In less than 10 minutes, you can walk to the centre of Cadzand. Here you can choose from Michelin-starred restaurants to chip shops. You can hire bikes or scooters, and of course there are souvenir shops. Did you know that Cadzand is also a great place to take a spa treatment? Or discover the Zwin nature reserve. What a top location!
.
The biggest attraction here is of course the fine wide sandy beach. Almost every year, Cadzand beach is voted the cleanest beach in the Netherlands. And of course you can spend your days here doing nothing, lazing and sunbathing and occasionally taking a refreshing dip in the North Sea. And if the weather is bad, you can use the indoor swimming pool and sauna/wellness facilities opposite the apartment in Hotel Noordzee (for a fee). Cadzand has been known as an excellent health resort for centuries due to its healing waters. A sauna and spa day here is highly recommended.
If you walk out of the apartment and into the dunes, you arrive almost directly at the Harbour. In and around Cadzand are many options for fine dining. Fresh fish, mussels or a steak are the specialities here.
Sports enthusiasts will find this region a true paradise. From the apartment, you walk straight into the dunes. Here you can enjoy walking and cycling. The dune region flows into the cross-border nature reserve Het Zwin. If you want, you can walk straight from the apartment via Het Zwin to Knokke (Belgium).
Sports enthusiasts can go from Cadzand: kitesurfing, windsurfing or catamaran sailing. You can do it yourself or take lessons and rent gear from beach pavilion de Zeemeeuw or Mojo.
A day of sea fishing is also a special experience. In Cadzand, you will find several agencies where you can book a trip. There are also shops for Quad rental, bike rental or e-bikes.
A 9-hole golf course was recently built in Cadzand. Near Cadzand are three different 18-hole golf courses with beautiful clubhouses.
Cadzand also has a sports hall with indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a number of squash courts. There is also a bowling alley and minigolf.
For a less sporty day, visit Sluis. This is a cosy, busy fortified town 10 minutes from Cadzand. Sluis has a great choice of shops and restaurants and is open 7 days a week. Sluis is loved for its cosy quay and historic Belfry. A walk along the historic ramparts is also worthwhile.
