About this holiday home

With its modern décor and a terrace overlooking the water, this accommodation immediately stands out. There is a picnic bench/table and from 1 April to 31 October also adjustable garden chairs. You can rent boats and bikes at reception, and if you book the boat ramp in advance, you can also bring your own boat. In winter, you can go straight onto the ice from the chalet. Holiday in a dream location! .

Outside Loosdrecht, the water experience does not stop there. The Vinkeveense and Maarsseveensche Plassen are also very beautiful recreational areas. Of course, it is no less enjoyable from the waterfront. Take a bicycle or skate trip along the Vecht and admire the beautiful country houses, castles and villages such as Loenen aan de Vecht. Breukelen is inviting and very centrally located in the Netherlands, so you are also in no time in Utrecht or Amsterdam .

Wunderschöne Lage und sehr gut ausgestattetes Chalet, das stilvoll eingerichtet ist. Das haben wir sehr geschätzt! Leider gab es im Vorfeld Verwirrung, da die Buchungsplattform und die Vermieterin unterschiedliche Infos schickten bzgl Check-in und Ausstattung (bspw Verfügbarkeit Elektro-Parkplatz, der im Winter nicht verfügbar ist). Nichts desto trotz haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen!

I can imagine during the summer this could be a nice place to stay. In our case we found the location to be way outside Breukelen with nothing around meaning a 40 Euro taxi ride one way (if you can actually get a taxi) so if you don't have a car you are stranded!! The beds were uncomfortable and the inside is very much like a caravan awful during a wet miserable week. Nothing was provided in terms of little comforts like tea/coffee, hairdryer, shampoo etc. We had some friends stay at another AirBnB nearer to Breukelen and all of this was provided. Price wise this was very expensive for the time of year considering there is little to do and poor levels of comfort. We ended up moving to the Van Der Valk hotel and actually this place per night cost more compared to an upscale hotel with gym, spa and restaurant. This has certainly made me think twice about doing "something different" and I may stick to the safety of hotels in future.

Leider ist an einem Tag im Kanal eine beträchtliche Menge Öl ausgelaufen, so dass sich ein großer Ölteppich vor den Terrassen befand und man das Wasser nicht zum Schwimmen nutzen konnte. Nach Meldung des Vorfalls an die Vermieter durch Gäste wäre es schön gewesen, wenn alle Gäste eine kurze Rückmeldung bekommen hätten, ob und wie das Öl beseitigt wird. Wir konnten nur feststellen, dass auch am nächsten Tag noch Öl auf dem Wasser zu sehen war und somit hatte man den Eindruck, dass sich das Öl einfach nur großflächiger verteilt hat und keine Maßnahmen ergriffen wurden. Mehr Kommunikation wäre einfach schön gewesen.

There is a good train connection between Schiphol Airport and Breukelen Station. From there it is still 4.5 km to the house. There is no public transport here so a taxi is advised.

Are there bicycles for hire?

Yes, there are (ladies') bicycles for hire. Costs are 8 euros per day per bike or 30 euros per week.

Are there any fast-charging stations for electric cars in the area?

Yes, you can charge your car in the port's car park using an ordinary socket. You pay €10 per day on the spot for charging per car. At Hotel Van er Valk in Breukelen (5 km away), there are lots of fast chargers.

Can you fish from your terrace?

Yes, you may fish at your own risk. A fishing licence is normally required in the Netherlands.

Can you barbeque here?

Yes, you may use a gas or coal barbecue here.

How is parking arranged?

There is 1 parking space on the site. The cottages are by the water on a footpath, it is an average 100 to 300 metres walk from the car. There are wheelbarrows for guests to use to get to their accommodation.

Can you rent a boat?

Yes, this is possible. But this can be done at the park on site and not through Villa for You.

Tip from the expert

Within cycling distance you will find the natural swimming pool De Meent. A very nice, relaxing and above all safe place to go with smaller children. It is the oldest outdoor supervised swimming pool in the Netherlands that is still in use!
