About this holiday home

This property is located on the Uitergeestermeer lake. The perfect place for water sports enthusiasts. Whether you want to go supping, canoeing, slooping, fishing or swimming, this is an excellent place. Alkmaar and Amsterdam are nearby and for a day on the sandy beach you can easily reach Castricum. The apartment is entirely on the ground floor and you have a terrace right by the water. Beautiful location for a wonderful holiday.

Naturally, you explore the area here from the water. You can hire a boat, a canoe or a windsurfboard in the immediate vicinity. The surroundings, which consist of water, dykes, windmills and dunes, are also great to explore by bike. Along the way, you can snack on herring or have a kibble or a croquette sandwich at one of the many outdoor cafés. We also definitely recommend a visit to beautiful Alkmaar. Alkmaar is famous for its cheese market. Order a cheeseboard and glass of Heineken somewhere and appreciate the Netherlands. If you want to enjoy the sea, go to the seaside beaches of Castricum or Egmond aan Zee. Many amenities are available at the park and harbour, including several restaurants, bike and boat rental. The park is easily accessible by motorway and Schiphol Airport is nearby.

Die Ferienwohnung war super! Alles war sauber und in einem einwandfreien Zustand. Der einzige kleine Stressfaktor war der Check-In-Zeitraum zwischen 16 und 18 Uhr – man musste darauf achten, rechtzeitig da zu sein. Abgesehen davon hat aber alles reibungslos funktioniert, sowohl beim Check-In als auch beim Check-Out. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a fishing licence required?

Fishing is allowed from the terrace of the cottage without a permit. If you take a boat out onto the Alkmaardermeer to fish, you do need a permit. This cannot be purchased at reception.

Tip from the expert

Anyone who has never been to Volendam should definitely visit it. The beautiful fishing village on the IJsselmeer, with its traditional costumes, music and fish is probably the most famous fishing village in the Netherlands and far beyond. Admire the little houses, have your picture taken in traditional costumes and eat delicious kibbeling at one of the many fish shops or stalls
