A chalet that feels like a nice home. The warm colours, a wooden well-equipped kitchen with Dolce Gusto coffee machine, spacious shower, comfortable beds and a sheltered veranda from which you have a great view. Surely that's all you really need. This chalet is located on a family campsite in the rolling countryside. The campsite has children's entertainment, play and sports facilities and a good restaurant. Within walking distance is the lutjes beach with a fenced off shallow bathing area.
From the campsite, you can easily walk to the Lutjestrand on the Amstel Lake. The recreation area has a kitesurfing beach, a windsurfing beach and a sandy beach. There is also a nice eating place here. Especially nice is that there is a swimming pool so you can swim safely. On the sandy beach you will find various play equipment for different ages such as a water table and a volleyball net.
From the campsite, you can reach the Wadden Sea in no time. But if you are looking for more beach fun, take a day trip to Callantsoog. Callantsoog is one of the oldest seaside resorts in the Netherlands. It is known for its very clean and wide sandy beach. Here you can enjoy a long beach walk or a sunny day at the beach.
The rolling countryside lends itself to lovely hiking or cycling trips. The landscape consists of meadows with sheep, small villages and polder areas with special flora and fauna. Just before the Afsluitdijk lies Den Oever, an attractive fishing village and a paradise for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. Various activities are organised from here, such as mudflat hiking, shrimp fishing, dew walking, sport fishing and, in summer, spectacular seal trips from the harbour to the Wadden Sea. Culture seekers will also enjoy the Viking Information Centre with a permanent exhibition on the Vikings.
You can reach Den Helder in just a few minutes by car, this city has a rich maritime history. Because the city is surrounded by water on three sides, Napoleon chose Den Helder to build the largest naval base with shipyard in the Netherlands. Willemsoord just outside the city centre houses the Naval Museum and the Lifeboat Museum. There is plenty to see and experience for young and old alike. The most unique thing is to see the inside of the Tuna, a huge submarine. Den Helder also has a lively nightlife area, excellent restaurants, numerous shops, cinemas and a beautiful theatre.
Those looking to soak up more Dutch history should definitely visit Alkmaar. Alkmaar is an old typical Dutch city with beautiful buildings with unique canal houses known for their gables lining the canals. The cheese market is a real experience.
From the campsite, you can also be in the heart of Amsterdam in an hour's drive.
In short, an ideal location full of peace, space and beach fun within easy reach and beautiful nature and historic villages and towns nearby.

Yes, there is ample parking. Cars can be parked near the chalet.
De Haukes is an atmospheric dike village on an old harbour. In the past, the mail boat from the mainland docked here alongside the fishing boats. This is also the starting point of several beautiful walking routes, you come across really special places, so it's very worthwhile to bring your walking shoes
