About this holiday home

Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, is one of the most beautiful villages in France, located on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella. This medieval town is strategically located on a rock above the river Dronne. The charming wooden balconies of the old stone houses and the maze of small streets, enhance the picturesque character of this village. Located just outside the village in the fringe community of Laprade, this modern house has wide views and a quiet location.

A huge chalk cliff houses Europe's largest underground church. Carved out during the Middle Ages, the church (Saint Jean, 11 th century) is no less than 20 metres high. Apart from this underground church, above ground, there is the collegiate church of Saint Jaques, and numerous chapels and monasteries. The surroundings are wonderful with rugged cliffs, deep valleys and lovely villages.

Tip from the expert

A great day out is a canoe trip on 1 of the big rivers, or go for a swim at the beach at the front of the village. In the area, you can go mountain biking, hiking or horse riding. Above all, go and enjoy yourself very much!
