The picturesque chalet park lies near the small and charming village Hohentauern on the Triebener-Tauern Pass in the Rottenmanner Tauern in Styria; here, you can experience breathtaking, unspoiled nature in both summer and winter!
On a sunny slope, this beautiful chalet is located in the chalet park, approximately 1,200 meters above sea level. It offers a fantastic view of the highest mountain in the lower Tauern, the Großer Bösenstein. The ski lifts of the Hohentauern ski area, a traditional family ski area with 11 kilometers of perfectly groomed pistes, are located less than 300 meters from the chalet!
Other popular ski areas in the region are the Kreischberg/Murau ski area with 42 kilometers of first-class groomed pistes, the Lachtal ski area with 36 kilometers of pistes and ski routes and the Tauplitz, Wurzeralm, Hinterstoder, Planneralm and Riesneralm ski areas. The nearby Kaiserau ski area in Admont is ideal for beginners and offers 3 kilometers of slopes for all difficulty levels.
Ski tourers and snowshoe hikers will find an Eldorado for their sporting passion right on the doorstep. Just a few meters from the chalet is the entrance to the cross-country ski trail and an idyllic winter hiking trail. There are also several signposted snowshoe routes.
In summer, this chalet scores with its central location in one of the most unspoiled and beautiful hiking areas in the Styrian Mur Valley. Hohentauern is the perfect place to go on hiking and mountain tours of all difficulty levels, explore mountain bike trails, and discover leisurely cycle paths. Summer is also known for the public swimming pools and bathing lakes, such as the Wald am Schoberpass leisure lake, the Putterersee lake and the Gleinkersee lake.
Motorsport fans and motorcyclists also get their money's worth, as the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is only around 35 kilometers away!
The village of Hohentauern and the surrounding area have various excursion destinations, such as the Triebental Valley with the Bergerhube and Moaralm or the 'wilde Berg' in Mautern. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities and a good selection of restaurants.

Welcome to Chalet Heidi and Peter in Hohentauern! Hohentauern is a small community in Upper Styria in the middle of the Lower Tauern mountains, just 15 minutes from the Trieben motorway exit but 500 meters above sea level and surrounded by numerous two-thousand-meter peaks. Hohentauern is a place to relax and unwind, as gentle tourism means those seeking relaxation get their money's worth in both summer and winter. The chalet is on a sunny slope and offers a fantastic view of the highest mountain in the Niedere Tauern - the Großer Bösenstein. The so-called Bösenstein circuit is one of this area's most famous summit hikes. For less experienced hikers, the Hauseck circuit is highly recommended!
If the weather is bad, visiting the thermal spas in the region is highly recommended! The AQUALUX thermal bath in Fohnsdorf (appr. 30 minutes by car) offers various indoor and outdoor pools and a diverse sauna world on three levels. The Grimming Therme in Bad Mitterndorf (appr. 50 minutes by car) offers 3 indoor and 4 outdoor pools, several relaxation areas, a separate children's area with a giant water slide, and a sauna village with different saunas
