About this holiday home

This elegant, modern apartment is part of the Alpenhotel Lanz in the small village of Hohentauern, located directly near the ski slopes of the Hohentauern family ski area. The apartment has 2 spacious double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a generous living/dining area, a modern open-plan kitchen, a loggia/balcony with mountain views and an exclusive private sauna. The Alpenhotel Lanz also offers a restaurant, other wellness facilities, a ski and bike storage room and ample parking facilities.

The idyllic mountain village of Hohentauern is located at 1,274 metres above sea level on the Triebener-Tauern Pass in the Rottenmanner Tauern in Styria. The region offers a breathtaking panorama, in which numerous mountain lakes, small waterfalls and caves are hidden. Hohentauern is the perfect place to experience the diversity of the Alps, and is an absolute insider tip as it offers everything you need for a mountain holiday in Austria. Hohentauern offers countless signposted hiking trails, marked mountain bike trails, various motorbike passes, marked winter hiking trails and snowshoe tours, ski touring routes, a toboggan run and a small, uncrowded ski area. Leisure sports enthusiasts will feel right at home, and this winter sports region is also ideal for families with children. Cross-country skiers can explore the region on a 13 kilometer network of trails with 2 diagonal tracks and a skating track. Whether it's the Großer Bösenstein or the Kerschkern in the nearby Triebental valley - many beautiful ski tours await you around Hohentauern. Ski and snowboard enthusiasts will find family-friendly slopes in the Ski Hohentauern ski area, from the middle station at 1550 meters above or from the summit at 1800 metres above sea level, you can ski down to the valley on 11 kilometers of perfectly snow-covered and groomed slopes whilst enjoying a fantastic mountain panorama. Other ski areas in the region include the Riesneralm family ski area in Donnersbachwald with 30 kilometers of slopes and the Kreischberg/Murau ski area with 42 kilometers of first-class groomed slopes and the Lachtal ski area with 36 kilometers of slopes. Those seeking relaxation as well as outdoor and adventure holidaymakers will find many opportunities for an active holiday in Hohentauern in the Murtal adventure region, as Hohentauern is the perfect place to go on hiking and mountain tours of all levels of difficulty, explore mountain bike trails and discover leisurely cycle paths. The summer is also known for the public swimming pools, the bathing lakes such as the Gaishorn Am See or the Wald Am Schoberpass leisure lakes and the thermal baths. Motorsport fans and motorcyclists also get their money's worth, as the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is only around 35 kilometres away. In the village of Hohentauern and the Murtal region there are many excursion destinations, plenty of shopping opportunities and a good selection of restaurants.

Tip from the homeowner

Spend a carefree day at the AQUALUX therme in Fohnsdorf, in the middle of the Styrian Murtal and about 30 minutes from the village of Hohentauern. This therme offers several indoor and outdoor pools on 3 levels, a varied sauna world with a Finnish panorama sauna, steam bath and infrared cabins and a lovely children's area. Another therme in the Murtal holiday region is the Grimming Therme in Bad Mitterndorf with 3 indoor and 4 outdoor pools, relaxation areas on 5 levels, a separate children's area and a sauna village. This therme offers impressive views of the Grimming massif and can be reached by car in around 40 minutes

Tip from the expert

Whether on the trampoline, in the climbing and sliding area or playing laser tag, the Playworld play and trampoline world in Spielberg, which is the largest indoor leisure park in Austria, offers fun for children of all ages and can be reached in around 30 minutes by car. Another tip is the Leopark in St. Michael, a family indoor playground with a 350 m2 toddler area with soft floors and a play area of over 2,000 m2 for older children
