The surroundings around Mauterndorf invite you to go hiking or you can take a ride on Austria's highest narrow-gauge railway, the Taurachbahn. It is possible to explore the many Lungau valleys by bike. The Lungau Golf Club with its 18-hole course, which is only 10 minutes away, makes every golfer's heart beat faster. The most popular excursion destinations include the Silent Night Church, the alpine village of Lessach and Mauterndorf Castle.
