Enjoy an unforgettable stay in this generous and rural country house in Mallnitz in Carinthia, close to the Ankogel and Mölltal Glacier ski resorts! This country house combines comfort with a warm, homely atmosphere and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. After an active day, you can relax on the large south-facing terrace. Free WLAN is also available and you can park directly at the house.
The small village of Mallnitz is located in Carinthia, in the center of the Hohe Tauern National Park; it is a little paradise for nature lovers in the Austrian Alps.
In winter, Mallnitz is a meeting point for winter sports enthusiasts. The Ankogel ski area awaits you with breathtaking views and fantastic pistes. You can conquer 1,400 meters of downhill skiing from the mountain station to the valley on almost 13 km of first-class groomed pistes. In the upper part of the ski area, carvers and snowboarders will find ideal pistes for wide turns, while beginners can practice on the Köfele lifts near the valley station. The extensive, open ski area on the Ankogel has long been an insider tip in the freeride scene. It is also home to the longest ski run in Carinthia, with a difference in altitude of 1349 meters.
The Mölltal Glacier in nearby Flattach (14 km away) attracts winter sports enthusiasts with unique features such as guaranteed snow all year round, exciting glacier descents, and spacious pistes: ideal conditions for carvers, ski racers, and board. The journey on the Glacier Express takes just eight minutes. The comfortable funicular railway takes you up to the ski area at the middle station at 2,200 meters. Continue with the Eisseebahn, a 6-seater gondola lift to the glacier ski area. Of course, beginners are also very welcome. Directly at the middle station, there are special children's pistes for first attempts at winter sports and a glacier fun park for freestylers.
Other ski areas in the Hohe Tauern National Park are the Grossglockner/Heiligenblutt ski area, which has 55 kilometers of pistes; the Emberger Alm family ski area, which lies high above the Drau Valley and has southern ski slopes between 1,600 and 2,200 meters; and the four varied top ski areas in Skigastein, which have close to 200 kilometers of slopes: Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel, Sportgastein, Graukogel, and Dorfgastein-Großarltal.
Mallnitz and the surrounding area also offer several lakes, including the well-known Stappitzer See in Seebachtal. Still, there are beautiful mountain lakes for cooling off after a hiking tour and public swimming pools in Mallnitz and the neighboring communities, such as the Tauernbad Mallnitz with a spacious sauna area and the swimming pool in Reisseck. There are many beautiful hiking and cycling trails, various sights, plenty of shopping facilities, and a good selection of restaurants in Mallnitz and the surrounding area. a.
